Default Old bow new question

I am in need of an expert opinion. I am a longtime reader and first time poster. I purchased a Bow Tech Allegiance in the fall of 06 and just recently put new Winners Choice cables and string on it. My question is will it achieve the same fps now as when it was new?

My Grandpa always told me it would take a big dog to weigh a ton.

As long as you have it in specs. It should shoot the same speeds, or more with the better String/Cables.

It should. As long as you have kept it in tune and specs, it shouldn't have lost any speed before. I know I am looking into this on my commander as my ATA has went up by .3" and figured thats where I am losing 2-3#.

It may not but you won't notice it without an accurate chrony. The original string/cable material on that bow were as good as it gets (BCY 452x). While the Winner's Choice is (I think) the same material the finished string weighs more because of all the serving they wrap on there. The Winner's Choice would be the slower of the two new strings but it would be insignificantly slower and should be more durable.

Have to agree with Kodiak, and you probally won't notice a huge gain of speed but with all (hopfully) still in tune you should be fine. If this bow feels good and shoots good why worry with change I still have my 1st bow I bought with yard mowing money, and when I feel the need to go down memory lane I get it out and run a set of shafts thru it for kicks. All of my bows have been handed down to my boys not out of loss of shootability but because something new caught my eye. Weather it was1 yr or 15 yrs.I have done both.

Actually ,with Winners Choice unless you specify 452x they are made out of 8125 . Very good material and you should gain a few FPS since it is lighter than 452 .
