i was wondering if any of you guys knew a formula to find knetic energy if so please post thanks

velocity x velocity x total arrow weight (in grains) divided by 450,240

In addition, here's a basic guide for ke






KE

Hunting Usage

< 25 ft. lbs.
Small Game

25-41 ft. lbs.
Medium Game (deer, antelope, etc.)

42-65 ft. lbs.
Large Game (elk, black bear, wild boar, etc.)

> 65 ft. lbs.
Toughest Game (Cape Buffalo, Grizzly, etc.)

The formula for kinetic energy is: one-half times mass times velocity times velocity. Watch the units, though!

Goldtip has a KE calculator on their website all you have to do is enter your speed and arrow weight and it does the rest for you. They also have a FOC calculator if you interested.

As a "rule of thumb", it is usually very close to the draw weight of your compound bow - a little higher for heavy arrows and a little less for lighter arrows.
