Default Newbie Guardian Question

Finally got my new-to-me Guardian rigged and did some shooting yesterday. I have a couple question that I hope someone can help me with. Been out of archery for almost 30 years....man, have things changed.

When I draw my bow, I'm having problems keeping the arrow on the rest. Pretty typical problem I know. But, it's happening when the cams drop in the valley and the Trophy Taker rest pops up. It want's to pop the arrow off. Should this improve as I gain strength and my draw becomes smoother? Is there "trick" to this or just learn to guide it with my index finger during the draw (not crazing about having my finger there when I switch to BH)?

Also, how is the let-off adjusted on a Guardian? Changing modules?

Thanks

Chris

Practice until you can perform a smoother draw or go to a full containment rest for a while like the Hostage. Your dealer can change the let off but I wouldn't start there. Once you get used to the 80% you will Love it.

I wouldn't get into the habit of putting my finger on the arrow.

Chris, with your TrophyTaker rest there should also be an arrow holder mounted ahead of the rest, on the shelf. If you don't have this now, you'll probably find it easier once you get one! Also, TrophyTaker has a couple of rest varieties, some have deeper valleys than other (for example, the "Pronghorn"). If your rest is "too shallow", perhaps a call to TrophyTaker, Inc (1.406.826.0600) or email (info@trophytaker.com) will reveal whether or not it's just possible to swap out the launcher portion before buying a whole new rest.

You shouldn't have to guide the arrow with your finger, and yes it gets easier as your draw improves. I should think that the launcher should be fairly erect just before the cam "rocks over", and that's adjustable by the placement of the connecting rope to the down-cable on the bow.

Once you start shooting it more your draw will become smoother. Alot of people draw their bow real fast and this kind of problem can arise. Draw slower and you'll see that it won't hop when it hits the back wall of the draw

Try a QAD or Rip Cord fall away rest. Your draw will get smoother as those muscles develope.
