Default Arrows with 4 vanes

Anyone ever use arrows with 4 vanes? I was thinking about making some arrows with 4 blazers with 2 of them positioned about 2 inches forward of the other 2.

As for arrow stability, I would think it would help.....however, it would also slow the arrow down (more weight and increased drag) and make them produce more noise in flight.

Is there a need for the 4th vane?

Couple of my friends that are accomplished target archers use 4 vanes for target shooting. Personal preference IMO, and if it was the best thing going, everyone would be doing it.
