Default Bear Montana

Can anybody please give me a real honest opinion on a Bear Montana longbow? I want to know both the good and bad points of it.

I do not want to spend any more than three hundred bucks or I would have gone for the Martin Savannah but they are two hundred more. I considered the PSE Sequoia but the manufacturer does not recommend the use of the fast-flite string with this bow. That tells me the Sequoia may not hold up as well???

I am a little goosy about buying used bows without seeing them first.

I will probably get a bow in 45 pound pull, or maybe 50 but no more. I have two compounds, and an inexpensive recurve but I just have a real desire to shoot a longbow. The only one I ever drew was real smooth and did not stack like the recurves I owned tend to do. My draw length is 29.5 inches.

Thanks for your time and your opinion. I live in a remote area of Colorado and do not have access to a big archery shop to try out bows.

Well, if your not experienced with trad bows, you won't know the difference between em. I have a savannah and like it for its looks and shooting. But any of these longbows have a low wristed grip, and are tough to shoot if not used to it. Most of the recurves have high wristed and little easier for someone new.

I have shot the bear and its a good bow for the price. Also look at the stick from martin. Bear will probably perform little better however.
