Default Cleaning the cable guard

What is the best thing to clean your cable guard with? I have heard both silicone and rubbing alcohol. Thanks to this website (I’m addicted now) I am going to be doing some tweaking to get a little better performance. I’m getting a Simms cable slide (again, thanks to this site) and just want to get the best benefit. Thanks again everyone.

Mathews advised Denatured Alcohol . . . and it works great.

i have always cleaned it using rubbing alcohol.if i'm outdoors and i feel like my slide is sticking i wipe around my nose or forehead and get a bit of oil and wipe it down my cable guard.works like a charm.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
