yep hunters use em. Its kinda mental and probably not needed on these beyond parrellel limbs. But kinda keeps you from wanting to grip the handle at the shot. I like my bow balanced. So after the shot, it doesn't fall forward or back.

All I do is Hunt. It's kind of like a safety belt. You may not use it but it will give you peace of mind!

A hunter needs one as much as anyone, maybe more.

When you have a proper shot you do not grab the bow at all untill well after the shot, when aiming down out of a stand, even the smoothest bows will want to fall to the ground but most of us rarely have that kind of follow through from a stand and will hang on to the bow to some degree.

"Need" for a sling is debateable. They seem to help a lot of people but most guys I see using them have them cinched down way too tight and, honestly, they'd be better off without 'em. Having them too tight forces you to torque the bow, which is exactly what they're supposed to help you avoid! You should be able to pull your hand away from the grip a solid inch before the sling stops you from going any further. If you do decide touse a sling, get it adjusted properly.

I know I pretty much needed them when hunting from horseback.
