Default Mathews Mustang VS Ignition...Opinion..Please

Help me understand the $200 difference here for a small archer just getting started.
Those $$ would come in handy for accessories.

The issue is I'm a short draw shooter thanks to my italian mom. 5' 3"
My DL is 24.5 and my DW right now starting is 45, but I haven't shot bows in 20 yrs, but I'll take that up to 53 as a few months come.
So my options are limited.

This local archery shop owner who is a former mechanical design engineer and archery team coach set me up on the Ignition and it got the best arrow speed out of all bows i shot! I was amazed. Most bows that start at 24 and go up in DL would not be good for me due to the reductions I have to take off IBO (fps loss due to reduction in DL and DW).

Well, at least I'll be shooting a good made bow and the demensions are right on with some new "small archer" bows and ....bottom line is I need a bow that performs for ME.

What do you think..? I appreciate all your opinions..

Greg

You should shoot them both and see what feels good to you. They are both good bows. I would lean toward a longer brace but that just me.

Thanks ArrowMike.
Think I'm going with the Ignition as I get plenty of speed for my DL and I'll have money to spare for accessories..The Ignition is a sweet shooting bow indeed! The first time I've had a bow that felt just right for a fit.

If you want true performance in a short draw bow you owe it to yourself to visit a Bowtech dealer and shoot the equalizer. No other short draw bow can come close to touching it.The equalizeris specifically designed to get as much performance from a short draw person as they can. Pound for pound, draw length for draw lengthit shoots faster than nearly any bow out there. If it were able to get to 70 pounds and a 30" draw length it would be as fast as the 82nd airborne.

Given the exact same draw length, draw weight, and arrow weight it will shoot 20 - 30 fps faster than either the ignition or mustang and it has a 7-1/4" brace height to boot.

Heck, you can get equal performance from a Diamond Edge for about$200 bare bow.
