Default re fletching arrows

I think I know the answer to this question but I need to ask!
I was cleaning the glue from my arrow and cut a small sliviver of carbon off - is the arrow junk?

I'd have to agree. It's not worth getting hurt over...

I agree safety always comes first, and forgive me if this is a dumb question, but how would this send him to the emergency room?

It hasn't happened to me personally, but I have seen pictures and actual injuries/wounds from carbon arrows shattering about 6-8" from the nock and impaling through the shooters bow hand and wrist. The carbon splinters and shatters as it goes through and little slivers stay in the skin and muscle, much like fiberglass, and can cause infection and alot of pain. IMO it isn't worth the risk and I would toss the arrow. Arrows are much cheaper than your hospital bills would be.

edit: Found a pic.....

Jeremy,
I'd really appreciate it if you didn't go running around showing everyone my picture, it makes my hand ACHE!!!

On a serious note though, MUCH better to be SAFE than SORRY!!!

Had a similar thing happen the other day, little sliver of carbon stripped off shop pro told me to pitch it. Plus those pictures say plenty, just isn't worth it.
