Default Drop away rest string tied to Cable slide or String?

Whats the best way to do it i have the ablitity on the new cable slide i have to tie it to the there through a hole or on to the string like normal.

I don't rely know what the difference would be between the two. Mine is tied to the string and works really well. I guess its just preference.

string, IMO..

but try both and see which one works best..i just say string because most or all of the rests were manufactored to be used, tied to the string not the slide.....

Just for clarification, you are going to want to tie it to the down-pulling cable, not the string, for most dropaways. The only rest that I know of that uses the up-traveling string is the spot-hogg whammy.

Most rests are tied to the downward moving cable. I used to have a NAP Quicktune 2000 that had a cord that attached to the cable guard. In theory, the rest will fall faster if tied to the downward moving cable.

I guess i can see that but whats the theory. The cable slideshould be moving pretty fast. Ive just been trying alot of different stuff out and it seems to be working fine on the slide i just didnt know if there were any downsides.
