Default .029 vs .019 Fiber Optics?

What is the benefit of each of these sizes?

i used to always shoot the 29 until i got into turkeys hunting... the 29 pin covered too much of the bird so i went with the 19 and it make a huge difference.. i only use 19 now for everything ... i have heard that they have one even smaller .... i will be looking to try them in the off season....

It all depends on your presonal preferance and needs. The .029 pins are larger and can be brighter in low light conditions. If your shots are fairly close and your not shooting at small targets these pins are fine. So if you are wanting the brightest fiber optics you canget and dont mind not being able to pick a tiny spot to aim at Id stick with the larger pins. The .019 pins can still be very bright and being a smaller pin they dont block near as much of the target allowing you to be a more precise aiming spot. I personaly prefer the smaller pins mainly because I do a fair amount of shooting at 50 yards and beyond. At those ranges the larger pins just block to much of the target for me. There is a couple of sights available out there with smaller pins one that I know of is the Extreme Rt1000 I believe and you can get .010 pins on it.

I think there are advantages and disadvantages of smaller versus larger pins. I know guys that want .039 pins and others that swear by .010. I personally like the .019. I think it is a very nice compromise and they work great for what shooting I do and how my eyes focus

I've went to a .29 for my 20-yard pin, and a .19 for my 30-, 40- and 50-yard pins.

I'd go to a .10 for my 50, but I don't want to have to stock THREE different-size fibers in my home shop...

I did just that Greg, I went totally away from the .029 pins, they are way to big for me both in target and hunting. I know shoot the .019 pins for my 20 and 30 and have the .010 pins for my 40 and 50.

I used to do that, but now I only shoot one pin[8D]

i like that .019...smaller and helps with my accuracy...my brother likes .029 pins because he can see them better.....to each his own.....try both and see which one you like better.........i do really like wrapped sights as oppose to non wrapped sights..
