The Nova is a low end bow by PSE. It is a good starter bow or for someone on a tight budget. It"™s not fast, light or small. It just your basic meat and potatoes bow. It will work fine for taking game.
When I worked at a pro shop back quite a few years ago I had a nova as my shop bow. The reason for it was to shoot the cheapest bow at the shop to show people that accuracy comes with practice not money spent. Now the owner might not have appreciated it.

i have one, and i like, but i think where i bought mine it wasnt handled right because the strings were fraying before ireally got to shoot it, but that was a easy fix, i like it for a begginers bow, but this spring i am going to put it up for sale though, because i want something alittle faster, and smoother.

Good starter like Mike said. Just set one up for a new bow hunter. It's louder and the draws not bad. Has no stops so a new guy would have trouble shooting it until thier form settles in. I guess it's a good starter bow at the right price. I set this guy up for 20 bucks release and all.

Why would people consideran inexpensive bow a starter bow? Would a Ford be considered a starter car compared to a BMW? Oh yeah,The Nova is a great bow for any skill level. It does the same job as all the rest, but just without the high price tag.

Starter is the word that has it wrong...should be something like this.
An inexpensive bow is a good test the waters bow. Id rather spend 300 on a bow and then find out that bowhunting isnt my cup of tea than 800.
Simple case of wording.

I am currently still shooting my Nova which I bought new back in 2001. I love this bow and it has done verywell at taking deer. Do not be ashamed that youre considering a Nova, if this is your first bow GO FOR IT. especially if money is tight. I spent right around 300.00 for mine back in 01 and I think it was very good investment. Plus, no manufactures warranty can compete with PSE's warranty.
