Default Using Digital Fishing Scale To Check Poundage?

Hey guys can you safely use a digital fishing scale like a berkely or a rapala to check the poundage of a bow? Would it be accurate? To me it would seem to work but I am no pro! haha they have ones that go to 80-90lbs at walmart for 15 bucks for a nice digital one with hook you can attach to a string loop just like a release.

I suppose but you'll need someone to tell you the maximum poundage that it reaches as you draw back...It sounds easier than it is I would imagine.

well went down to walmart today and they do have digital scales with hooks but they max out out 50lbs. So I was wrong.

Just in case you should find one with a higher rating consider this. It's a mechanical/ electronis gizmo. It doesn't know whether there is a bow or a fish on it.

I agree, it should not matter what you are measuring. It should be pretty accurate, as well.

It should work if you can find one to go that high. They are, however, not accurate. All of the cheaper models are inaccurate. I've had a Rapala, weighed every fish at 4.3lbs, and a Berkely and neither worked.

According to the guys that tourny fish and make a living with them you can't get an accurate scale for less than $100. You get what you pay for so to speak.
