Default carter vs truball rotating head

carter vs truball rotating heads
HI there everyone.
this is my first time posting , however I come to view very often.

What are some of your opinions on truball's rotating heads on the release aids that are supposed to eliminate torque on the bowstring? This seems like a very good idea, but if it is as good as it sounds why is it that companies like carter are not using it for example?

I am really interested in the carter insatiable 2, however, truballs extreme hand held target release sems to make more sense due to the different heads available as well as the no torque string connection. I am thinking that the truball may be more forgiving overall for me to shoot if I happen not to be in the exact same position on every shot. What do you guys think? does this rotating head have real merit to it?

I do like the fact that the insatiable seems to have a shorter hook to handle length so it wont affect my draw length adjustment on the bow as much. In carters defense though, shooters like dave cousins seem to make it work???

THis is confusing
thanks for your help guys

One of the issues with releases is that there is way more that works than does not.

By torque free, are you talking about the single ball nocking system? It is execelent, and really does rotate. Tom Crowe has used it in competition with great results. It was the original cool feature that launched the TRU lineup. They will tell you however, that demand has not really measured up to its pottential. People are nuts about loops, and other methods. My view is that they all work, and there isn't much to choose between them. The balls put a lot of pressure on your serving. Once you get it so it works (which with the quality of current serving materials might be right out of the box) it is a very reliable system.

If you look at the TRU release mechanism that doesn't load up, it is obviosuly a good idea also. But I have used plenty of releases that do load up, one can make theoretical arguments about what is better, but the reality is that a lot of systems from about 40 bucks up are capable of worldclass performance.

I prefer the comfort and features of TRU these days, vs Carter, or Stan, but I wouldn't loose any points if I was forced to use only one from amoung them.

thanks for posting

but i am actually refering to the swivel head on the release that will not put a twist in the loop as you rotate your release hand to find your anchor.

thanks

Tru-Ball has several different models with caliper style heads,Chappy Boss,Extreme and so on.I don't know if Carter makes a t-style release with this type of head? But I have shot a Chappy Boss and a Carter Hunter,I switched to the Chappy Boss for this reason,I to thought the Carter might be twisting the string loop, because it does not swivel.I have a Carter Hunter(T-Style)release on the classifieds for sale.If anyones interested e-mail me,I'm asking $85 for the release including shipping,I paid over $130 for it new and only used it 1 month.

ya thats what I am thinking as well
I shoot a real short d loop, measures only 1/2 inch long, any shorter and I dont think Id be able to tie it.

I wonder if there is a min recommended d loop length to use on a release style such as the carter so the torque on the loop wont effect shooting accuracy?
