Default bowtech commander and finger shooting

Just wandering if anybody had tried shooting the commander with fingers and what type of rest was used. Just can't get comfortable with a release, been shooting with fingers for over 30 years. With ata at 37 1/4 I know it's at the low end for fingers.

I shot fingers for about 24 years and then switched to a release. I've gotten used to it and know it's good, but I tell you, I wish I had never done it. There's nothing more simple and pure and quick than hooking the string with your fingers and letting it go. The fingers don't tear up strings or require a loop or any of that crap. You been at it this long you mights well stay with the fingers until arthritis gets ya.[8D] One problem area... tuning. With these high speed bows shooting fingers the tune has to be dead nuts to your form.

I,m staying with fingers just wandering ifwith this axle length and different design, if the groups would be consistent without a lot of finger pinch. What type of rest?

I've got a Bear TRX, 36" axle to axle, that I've got set at 32 1/2" draw. It's usually set up for release but I also I shoot fingers with it sometimes, using a 2-finger release method. I draw 3-finger - 1 over/two under - and drop off the ring finger when I hit anchor. A 3-finger release along with the high let-off makes it too easy to torque the string.

I doubt your draw length is as long as mine, so I don't think you'll have any problems. I do recommend following my example and dropping off the ring finger when you hit anchor though.

My rest of choice is the Cavalier FreeFlyte micro adjust.

Thank's, Arthur I've never tried the finger drop always shot 1 over 2. Would dropping down the let off (85 to 70) help?I shoot a 30 inch draw.

Dropping to lower let-off will definitely help minimize string torque, but you might see an increase in finger pinch. The only way to know for sure if it'll work for you is to try it.

Good friend of mine shoots his Commander with fingers and uses an old school golden key prong rest. He has always shot fingers and loves his Commander. If it works for you, I would stick with it!
