Default Pre-stress On Bowtech MM

I just recieved my MM in the mail and took it to my local shop. The guy there looked at it and told me the string looked to short for the bow? Where the string meets the cam it's on the back side of the roll and does look a little odd, but I'm not that familiar with these things. The string could have been changed as I did get it second hand, but it's a winners choice and the guy I bought it from told me he only shot it 40-50 times. Pdq5oh or DoninVa?? What's the cam situation on your machine? Is this guy drunk or should I be concerned?

Hard to say without seeing it. Measure the brace height. Should be 7 & 1/8 to 7 & 1/4&quot;.

Are there timing marks on the cam? Do they bisect the limb?

You can download the Bowtech catalog on the webpage and it will give the exact measurement for the cam timing (measured from the module screw to the limb)

The screw that holds the draw length module on the cam should be 1/4&quot; from the limb. This is the timing mark for the MM in the owners manual. That would be the top screw towards the grip. The brace height is 7.2 in the manual.Hope this helps . I could scan the page from the manual and e-mail it to you if you need me to. Don

Thanks Guys,
Good call Don, I forgot about the manuals on the site.
I twisted the cables and untwisted the string and it worked out fine.It was torqued up though...looks like someone was playing &quot;pro-shop&quot; withot the proper experience again!LOL
On a side note I shot it with an Nap 1000 and the Impact cosmic (Muzzy was out of stock) and couldn't pattern the broad side of a barn. Tried adjusting just about everything. Our indoor league started the week before and I couldn't miss another so I took it and shot like dog poop. The Muzzy came on Saturday so we put it on and I was grouping 1.5&quot; @20yrds inside of 15 minutes. Can't wait to shoot it again. How many days till October 1st??<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
