Default Scott Sabertooth Release

So I just bought a Scott Release, and just had a few questions. 1) In the warranty paperwork it says to "blow it dry" after use in the rain... How crucial is this? I mean, I don't want to ruin an expensive toy, but I dont want to go crazy with it... 2)Any other maintenance related things I should know? Is it better to store it with the jaws open, or closed, or doesn't it matter?

I like to keep a very light coating of gun oil on my release at the moving joints. Oil it and then blow out the excess, too much oil can cause as much trouble as no oil.
