Default Just got back from the Pro Shop

Well, i learned alot. After paper tuning my bow and making sure it was all lined up, i decided to go to the local pro shop and check the speed. 260/261/261. I thought that was a little slow until i started talking to the Pro. He said that 261 was fine because i was shooting a hunting setup, and i needed the Kenetic Energy. My arrows are 381gr, this includes the nock, insert, vanesand 100gr tip. My FOC is 9.9%... not to bad. He let me shoot an IBO arrow, and i was getting 289 out of my bow. I had no idea that the arrow HAS to be 5gr per lb of draw weight. I shoot 67 lbs and a 29 inch arrow so he set up an arrow at 330grs for me to test the IBO speed... 289. Sure was a learning experience for me.

So what did i get out of the trip to the Pro...
Draw weight is 67lbs (not 70 like i thought)
FPS is 261
FOC is 9.9%
KE is 57 lbs (Good)
Arrow weight with field point-381
Arrow weight with Muzzy 3 blade-377
Cams have good roll-over
Ready to hunt...

Your experience going to pro shop is typical of almost all good pro shops. That's why I reccomend anybody buying their bow thru pro shop instead of discount stores or mailorder. You might pay a bit more by buying from a proshop but this is more than offset by their expert knowledge they are willing to share when you buy thebow from them and have them set it up. They have real interest in making SURE you are satisfied.

Sounds like a dealy seup for those deer.

Also sounds like a shop to continue dealing with. It was nice of him to not only explain the difference, but to get an arrow for you to try so you could learn first hand. Now there is a guy that takes care of his patrons.
