RE: Should I use a doe decoy????
Two years ago, I tried a doe decoy. I put it in a food plot in plain view hoping to pull in a Buck. It was prime rut.
A yearling doe came around the corner, saw the dedcoy and locked up. She stomped her foot, gave a quick snort, and retreated the way she came. There might be something to what you say......I can't tell you what she didn't like, but she was sure, she didn't like it.
The decoy was kept outside and I was careful to eliminate any odors. I even placed the decoy out the night before to let it settle in. I'm sure it was a sight vs. smell thing.
