The Switchback XT is probably the most popular mathews bow. I have read and talked to several people who say they like it better than the drenaline. There isn't a whole lot of difference between the original SB and the SB XT, other than axel-to-axel length and I believe that the new SB has several extra harmonic dampeners. You can go to mathews website and look at the specs of both bows and see all the differences.

I've shot the switchback, switchback xt, and drenalin all extensively and like them all but do like the drenalin better. It is faster, lighter, etc....if you shoot it bare bow compared to the switchback or xt it will have a bit more handshock with with accessories on it you really can't tell a difference. They are all great bows, I would recommend getting to a dealer and trying them though.
I can't personally speak about the drenlin because I havn't shot 1 myself but I have a couple buddys that has em. They like the lighter weight but tell me they are a smidgon louder than mmy switchback xt. The switchback xt is EXTREMELY quiet and has 1/2 higher brace height. If I knew I couldn't get another, you would have to kill me to get mine!!!!
I honestly don't see how you could do better than mathews. I notice boqwtech owners/shooters are quick to bash mathews but hear a LOT about limbs cracking. And please notice: what would bowtech bows look like if they hadn't copied mathews?

i don't know what your spending range is, but a few weeks ago i was at an expo and the matthews guys were there sellin the outbacks for 350$. bow starts lookin a lot better at that price, but still a little outdated.
I have a 2005 Switchback and I've shot the Switchback XT and Drenalin. Honestly I do not find a huge difference between these 3 bows. You can't go wrong with any of the 3. If you are buying brand new then I think the Dranaline is the way to go. But you can find good deals on a used Switchback or Switchback XT.
i've had quite a few xt's here to work on, and i think that it is a a heck of a hunting bow. every one was put together well.

I have shot them all and I like the XT the best. It"™s a smoother draw, less hand shock, and quieter. But there all good bows. I also think the average Joe can"™t tell the difference any way. Go out and shoot them all and see what you like.
