Which would be better a prong arrow rest or a whisker biscuit because I am wanting to get a new bow and I can't decide.

It's up to you. I personally like a full containment rest like the WB, but I like drop away rests so that is why I chose the Ultra Rest. The Prong style rests are good rests but the arrows have to be checked for vane clearance. There are a lot of WB shooters on here so ask one of tem for a review.

Welcome to the site and welcome to archery and archery hunting.

The double prong is easier to set-up and has been tried and true for a long time. You have to make sure that you have down force on the draw to keep the arrow on the d-prong and as Redneck has said align the fletching to pass through properly. The arrow can come off the d-prong during the draw and create a dangerous situation.

The WB helps with it's full containment. It is probably a safer rest due to being full containment preventing the arrow from going anywhere in case you would do something that would typically nock the arrow off the rest during the draw or torque the string and make the arrow come off the rest.

However ,you have to have pretty good follow through and form or you can affect the arrow since it is full containment.

I'd recommend the whisker biscuit for a beginner since it prevents the arrow from leaving the rest during the draw and will make you work on form more to get a good shot. Many bow kits come with the WB for this reason.

Have fun shooting and good luck this year.

Welcome to Archery! (it's addicting!)

Why pass up the drop away rests? You can find drop aways for the same price as the WB on ebay, archerytalk, HNI, etc. Most are extremely easy to tune.

Yeah you are a newby and typically the WB is better for newbies (because of the full containment)but you won't be a newby for long. You'll soon want that accuracy out to farther ranges.

If I had a 13 year son, I would want him using a WB. It's a lot safer for beginners, and you won't have to worry about your arrow getting knocked off the rest while your in a hunting situation, or high winds.

Or either get the Quik Tune 360CaptureRest .I like better, just because of less contact with your arrow.
