Lg Dia VS. SM Dia Arrows speed?

This last week end I got into a discussion on arrows about large diameter VS small diameter arrows. I was told that large dia arrows slow down faster than small ones. Now I don"™t debate this, because large arrows do have more drag then small ones. What I was wondering is how much speed do you loose at 30, 40, 50 yards? How much would this change point of impact (the drop for 20 to 50 yds)?

Let"™s say we shot a .354 dia fat boy VS .296 Dia standard size carbons, Also lets say that every thing is equal weight, FOC, spine, vanes, out of same bow tuned for the arrows.
If it helps to do the math my 27"� 330 gr. Fatboy is getting 287 fps shot out of my Hoyt Vectrix XL at 28.5"�

Not a lot if any.

I used to use fat shafts for 3d and now use skinny shafts, the big difference comes if there is a strong cross wind the skinny shafts dont get pushed as much.
