Default Which Arrow Saw?

Im shopping for a Vice and an Arrow Saw among other things and was wondering what you guys are recomending.

I see Cabelas has there name on what looks like an Apple Archery make. I used an Apple A-1 Saw at my Dads for years.

I've alsocome accross some Chop saw types on E-bay.

And what bow Vices are you guys using?

Pimp my Bench!

I bought the 5,000 rpm version from Cabelas and have been very pleased with it; I just got through cutting off a dozen A/C/C's with it and had very clean cuts. I like the fact that for a considerable less amount of money, it comes with an on/off switch and arrow spinnners, too.

I went with the Apple for a bow vise -- you can adjust it any way you want to get your bow perfectly horizontal and perpendicular.

Both are pictured here on my bench:

I've always liked the apples but if the Cabelas one has a spinner for less money then it looks to be a better deal. Honestly as long as you can replace cutting wheels they should all do the job.

Yeah, and I'd bet a dollar to a donut that they come off the same assembly line... Maybe not, but they sure do look pretty close...

I can't imagine the chop saw types working as well as a rotary type cutter. The last word in arrow saws in a precision machine lathe, holding the arrow in a collet, and cutting it off with a Dremel tool mounted in the tool post - spinning a diamond cut-off wheel. Perfect every time.
