Default What does your hunting arrow weigh?

I was thinking of trying a lighter hunting arrow this year for deer only, something around 350 grains ( with an 85 gr slick trick ) for a 27" 60 lb bow. I am normally closer to 400 grs on my hunting setup. Anybody go that light on deer and if you do whats the penetration like?

377 gr. total weight. No problem what so ever with penetration.

It's all about shot placement.

My arrows are around 530 grains. Like said above, it's all about shot placement... until you screw up. I'm not perfect, so I like having insurance.

450 grns out of a 55-60 lb bow with a 26 inch draw length. I get around low 200 fps with it.

That will be a great deer killer! I have used CX 3D Select's that have weighedaround 340 grains from a 65# 28" rig for the past several years. Tipped with a Rocket Steelhead 100, I've had complete penetrationwith every shoton dozens of deer, some of which have weighed in excess of 300#. Shot distances have ranged from15 to 42 yards. You'll be in great shape! By the way, not a single deer has taken more than 60 yards on me!

Good luck and good huntin'
