Default HOYT ViperTec How Do I Convert For My Wife?

I have a 2004hoyt vipertec with the 60-70 weight, a length of 26.5-29, a string of 50, and a BC of 34.25/37. It has XT1000 Limbs.

-Can I just change out the cams to make it a 40-50 pound bow or perhaps even a 30-40 pound bow?

-What cam or mods would I need?

-Do I need to get different strings?

-Can this be done and about how much would it cost?

Thanks in advance of any and ALL help,
Bryan.

You would have to replace the limbs, not the cams to decrease draw weight. If Hoyt makes 40-50 lb limbs for that bow just buy a set. New limbs would probably be $100 to $200. Used a lot less.

If you need to reduce the draw length under 26.5 in you'd have to buy cams. However, again it would be only if Hoyt made shorter DL cams for that bow. No clue on cam cost.

You could try to trade your bow for one that would fit her better.

If the draw length of the cams you have now would fit her, then your only option is to change the limbs. If the draw is too long with the cams you have now, then you will need to get a different set of cams and that would decrease the poundage some but probably not enough to get you all the way to 50#'s.You would also need to change the string and cables.

Your best bet is to either keep the bow as a backup for you and get her a different bow or sell it and use that money toward the purchase of a new bow,it will be cheaper in the long run.
