I have noticed that there are alot of knowledgeable folks on this site, can you help me out.
I see wear on my rest that my old bow did not show. Here are the facts. Tm style launcher covered with shrink tube, carbon arrows(carbon express), 29'' draw, 64 lbs,300+fps. I paper tune and it is well within standards. Spring tension is set were I believe it is correct. Arrow flight is clean with both field and broadheads. I do shoot several times a week.
What I notice is the shrink wrap needs to be changed more frequently then my last bow. Would I be safe to assume that this is a product of increased speed and leave it at that? I'm one of those guys who needs answers.
Carbon arrows are hard on shrink tubing. I have noticed that certain brands will eat it away really fast. I use hush tubes made out of teflon on my TM style rest. they are a great product and can be purchased from Cabelas, Bass Pro, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Lancaster Archery. There are several companies that make them, Golden Key, Cobra, and NAP.
I haven't used them myself, but I've heard lots of good reports from folks who used the Pronghorns from Cobra. They are teflon, I believe, and slide on over nearly any prong-type rest.
