Default axle to axle

when you measure axle to axle do you measure to the center of the axles?

I think the measurement is more of an approximate one, but it is from center to center.

thanks thats what i thought. that means that mine is a quarter inch to long. good thing i am putting on a new string on.

Most tuning gurus I've seen recommend getting your brace height spot-on when replacing the strings and letting the a-to-a fall where it will... Hopefully, it'll be pretty darn close.

I think the critical measurement is cam position. Each manufacturer will have an ideal position for the cam(s). I would recommend finding what this position is for your bow, and adjusting string and/or cable lengths to meet this position.

After everything is perfect and bow is tuned, then take careful measurement of ata, brace heights, nock position and peep position (if you use one). Record these for the simple reason of easily getting back to the ideal shooting when you change your string or cables, or just to check it now and then to be sure things haven't changed.

Find out the string and cabel lengths and twist/untwist to match
