Default Terrible luck with strings

Just got my first bow in December. I had it shipped to me once it came in as I live over 100miles away. When it arrived, there was a hole in the box. Opened it up and found the string broke and a cable frayed badly. I called up the shop and they replaced the entire bow for me.

Now, last night I pulled back and my loop came untied. Costly mistake. Snapped the string and frayed the same cable.I am going to a higher quility sting and cable as the factory ones never did look very good to start out with. Can I replace just the string and frayed cable or should I replace both cables along with the string?

id have the bow checked over really really well by the shop. a blown up string could blown up or cracked limbs or messed up the cams and/or axels etc etc....

If you go to a higher quality string/cable it's going to be made of a different material than the originals. Replace them all so that they are the same. Once you know what material you're working with you can replace them in components but I always replace both cables if I'm changing one.

Thanks guys. I haven't looked at the bow since last night. I was too frustrated with it and myself at the time. Hopefully everything is ok. I'll be sending this G I B B L E T guy some busness soon. I hear his stringsare top notch, grade A stuff.
