Default Dove tail mounts

Many of you read my postings regarding sight and peep questions. Well... of course I have another. What does the dove tail mount do, and do I need it? Thanks for everyones patience and help. Maybe one day, I can give advice.

Most dove tail mounts are made for sights that have long sight bars so you can easily take the sight off and put it in a carry case.

Unless you sight was designed to use a dove tail mount no you dont need one

If your not an indoor 3D shooting guy dont do it. When you are hunting you dont want your sit that far away from you, and the place you need to hit the deer doesnt need that small of a pin view you need a pin that you can see in low light. Sure hitting 12 spots are great but for deer hungting the 10 spot will do just as good.

Not unless you want to be able to remove your sight. I used to have identical sights, one for BH's and the other for FP's that I could swap back and forth rather than resighting everytime I want ed to use one or the other head. With my new bow I've been able to get them to impact in the same spot and I went to a fixed sight.
