Default 07 bowtech ally limb bolts

Hey guys, when i bought my ally a few weeks ago i told the the pro shop guy to set it at 70 pounds. is that the max for the ally? reason why im asking is i checked the the limb bolts today and they turn in very easily. When they are bottomed out do they come to a solid stop? thanks

Yes, they should come to a solid stop. At least mine does. Just remember, you're turning into Aluminum and could easily strip them out if you really try to crank on it. Also make sure you're loosening the side bolts on the limb pockets when you turn the weight jacks.

Do you know what the slots on the side of the limb pocket are for? Do you need to loosen them up first to change draw weight? Or, are do they allow you to tear the bow down, along with the limb bolt, without a bow press?

The bolts on the side of the limb pockets are locking bolts. They need to be backed off before changing the draw weight and then tightened back down when adjustments are complete. I'd also recommend to back the limb bolts off 1/4 a turn from "bottomed out" if you want to shoot your bow near max draw weight. This is to allow the section of limb within the limb pocket some freedom of movement while shooting.
