Default Sight Adjustment

Qucik newbe question. Why does moving my sight up cause the arrow to go down?

I just spent a lot of time moving my sight down to correct a high arrow at 20 yds, and after completely missing the target and hitting a fence, I decided to go 180 and move the sight up. Now, I am right on the target.

Thanks.

With your bow holding hand hold your bow fully out. Now "picture" if your sight was an inch higher on your bow. In order to still be on target you must point your bow more toward the ground. This is what causes your arrow to shoot lower. So Move your sight in the direction that you aremissing. If your missing high move the sight up, missing left move your sight left.

Hope this helps. --Millpond

Chase the arrow. If you are shooting low, move the pin down. Shooting to the right, move your pin to the right.

It's pretty simple if you think about it.

If you move your pin lower then you will have to raise the bow slightly higher to align your sight in the peepagain.By raising the bow you will shoot higher. So if you are shooting high and want to lower your point of impact you will need to raise the pin. By doing this you will have to bring the bow down slightly to again align your peep with the sight. Bylowering thebow down you are actually aiming it lower and you point of impact will be lower.

I think Hardcore said it...."chase your arrows"
