RE: Peep Sight
This is a tough one. I say this because it sounds like you shoot some sort of indoor competition, but want to use the same peep for hunting. For this I would check into theSpecialty ArcherySuperPeep. I believe you can change out the apeture size without removing the peep this way you can shoot a small one for competition and the larger one for hunting, they make both a tube style and tubeless peep like you want.I believe there are other brands out there that you can also change out the apetures as well.
Be warned though, without the tube to align the peep you need to make sure you have a quality string and cable set that won't creep on you after it has settled in. Even that is no guarantee that your peep will be in the proper position EVERY time you pull it back. Sometimes extreme weather and humidity changes can screw with even the best of strings.
This is why I always use the tube style peep. I use a large opening and change my tube twice a yearwhether it needs it or not. I also never tie my peep tubeto the cable, I usea little clip post that looks much like the post on the peep that you slide the tube on. It takes only a minute or two to install it anddoesn't cost much.I have never had one fail on me since doing this. Make sure the length is correct not too shot just long enough to rotate toe peep into position. Some say the tube style peeps have drawbacks, one they slow the bow down and two they are loud. Well the few fps I lose doesn't bother me and I realy have not noticed that much more noise and it certainly has not effected the deer I have hunted over the years. I will trade those little "drawbacks" for the piece of mind knowing my peep will be in position everytime I draw no matter what string I have on my bow or what the weather is like outside.
Remember, all I do is hunt, no competition for me, just practice and hunt. If I were in your shoes and were dead against the tube, I would invest in a quality string/cable setand go with a interchangable apeture tubeless peep.
Good Luck
