Default string life

I bought a hoyt vipertech in 03 and routinly wax and inspect the string. I shoot winter archery league and practice throughout the year. The string shows no worn or damaged areas but I guess I was wondering how long you go until you replace your strings even if they are not in bad shape? Archery league starts next week and thought I could get some input from yall. I seen bows blow up and dont want to be a victim.

I found one of my compounds bows had a string busted into last week. Its been waxed and well maintained. It hasn't been shot a great deal either, but the string was about 4 years old. Strings are cheap, I would replace it because its not worth the risk.

3 years on a stock string , time to change to a good after market string IMO.

Ditto on that I shoot a lot and usually go through 2 sets a year I am not going to take the chance of having a string break at full draw.

Amen to that. I just figured that once a year was adequate but maybe twice a year isnt a bad idea.
