Carbon Arrow manufacturer's recomend NOT using any kind of hot melt type glue for inserts, the heat breaks down the resin that holds the carbon fibers together therefore weakening the arrow........this came straight from Goldtip when i asked why my arrow snapped of in the target behind the insert.

If you use a low heat hot melt, like what Easton sells,it is fine for carbon. You do have to be carefull and smart.

NEVER heat the shaft, always heat the hotmelt and just lay a bead around the end of the shaft. Then put a field tip in the insert and heat the insert JUST ENOUGH to get the insert to slide through the glue while twisting the insert.

All are correct about the heat and carbon but I can usually lay my hand on the shaft immediately after inserting my arrows.
