If it is going to be a 3D specific rest and never used for hunting than a spring steel style rest is in my opinion the best bet. This is also probably the most popular amongst guys that are shooting at the pro classes at the national level. I feel the best brands for these are the Britesite Pro Tuner, and the Trophy Taker Spring Steel 1 hole. I have a TT Spring Steel 1 hole on my indoor bow that will probably end up on my 3D bow when it gets here, and I will be ordering the Britesite Pro Tuner for my indoor/FITA/field archery bow.

Rick
How long do the blades last? And do you get all 3 size blades with it?

Well I have probably 30,000+ shots out of each blade I own so no they don't wear out. That's the beauty of them, they are rugged and simple and work extremely well. Dave Cousins even took an arrow and nocked it upside down with a fletch facing directly down to impact the blade directly and still hit the 9 ring (6 inches or so off) at 90 meters just to show their forgiveness. They really are that forgiving of a rest.

You typically want to order a blade depending on what type of arrow you will use. I prefer a .010 thickness blade for anything 350 -450 grains and am even using it on my indoor arrows that weigh 487 grains. I tend to use wide diameter shafts to cut lines in 3D so I use a wider blade. I am using the widest blade on my 30X pro arrows for ASA, and the next skinnier size blade for my pro 22's that are a bit thinner.
