I've shot that model for about 10 years and really like the relax feature to play with when the old target panic problem shows up for a visit. I shoot directly off the string and they don't wear the serving. It's amazing how little pressure on the trigger it takes to hold the string before it goes off. Good stuff!
I was pretty ill for a little over two weeks and lost a lot of strength and am not back to 100% yet but I shot the Relax to fire the first time yesterday and was amazed at the accuracy it allowed even though I was not up top par on my strength and follow through.
Have you used it in hunting conditions?

It's the only release I've owned for 10 years and I use it for everything but in pull trigger mode. Once in a while I'll shoot with the relax trigger just to keep myself guessing. Happy Thanksgiving and get well<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>.
Hey Walks With a Gimp . . . did you make any trigger pull force adjustments or did you just leave the trigger pull setting as it came from the factory?

I have the X-caliper glove and the hurricane glove and for hunting I would definetly go with the hurricane. I just think that there is enough to think about when that big buck or bull gets into range w/o having to wory about keeping pressure on the trigger to keep it from firing. Your also having to make your finger do something opposite of what the rest of your body is doing. I do really like the hurricane though. It has a spring in the roller jaw to automaticly close the jaws around the string w/o you having to push the trigger foward to close the jaws. It's a really nice feature in that there is one less thing you have to wory about at the moment of truth. Check out the hurricane I think you will like it. I'm not trying to discourage you, just giving thoughts on my experiances.

I made the trigger pull lighter I think by turning inward the set screw. The release goes off now just by thinking about it. It has never pre-fired on me but I always put pressure on the back of the trigger with my index finger during the draw. I wouldn't know much the trigger pull is but I'd guess less than 2 pounds and there is no travel or take up before it fires. I like it!
I have a very disciplined follow through and have for more than 30 years maintained a constant tension on my string and with the relzx to fire it is a purely natural process to maintain that tenmsion and after firing, my release hand moves rearward naturally in a classic follow through.
Like walks with a gimp, no misfires. but then I have just made the change over. The relax to fire will be my only method of release because the release has VERY little impact on the bow and there is NO punching of the trigger as in the pull to fire and thus far is much more controlable and accurate.

Like I said I only use the release trigger once in a while but I think I could change over to it if I shot it for a week. It is a nice option without buying another release. I think you do need to commit to one style for a lengthy period before the pressure of hunting season comes. Good luck!
Although I have only shot three dozen arrows with the Relax to Fire Release in three sessions . . . it is perfectly natural now and I have nine months to practice with it. By ell season opener, it should be automatic and without conscious thought.
Thanks for your help. I value your encouragement.
