Default CE Maxima 350 VS CE Maxima Hunter 250

I have been shooting the CE Maxima 350 arrows and really like them. I found a good deal on eBay for 6 of the CE Maxima Hunter 250 arrows and bought them.

They are the same length as my 350's. The differences are they came fletched with 3" feathers and my 350's have 5" feathers. The 250's also have 6" wraps.

I took 4 of each set out last night to shoot with 100gr field points and they shoot completely different. Not sure if the spine is affecting the flight or if it's the difference in the feathers.

The difference between the 250 and the 350 is that the latter has a much stiffer spine. Also, the two arrows have a different weight, even at the same length, which is due to the spine.

Same make and model, two TOTALLY different spines.

Do you think that if I trimmed down the arrow by about a ½ inch (which is as short as it could be) and removed the wrap and replaced 3" feathers with my 5" feather that it would make much of a difference?

It might, but if you are shooting 350's usually, you wont be able to get the right tune with the 250's...not without changing your whole setup.
Honestly, you should have checked this out BEFORE you bought the arrows.
What length are they currently cut too, maybe I could buy them off you.

Anyway, to answer your question....No, it wont help. You might get close, but I dont think you will get the right tune.

As everyone has already stated, the spine is different. What I want to know is what is the real problem? Yes, the two arrows may fly different but are they flying badly? Are the 250's grouping well but at a different spot than the 350's. Just need some more information. I think you should be able to shoot the 250's fine out of your setup. I shoot the CE 200's and 250's out of my bow set to 65# with a 28.5" arrow and they shoot perfect.

There is always the option of reducing the peak weight of the bow, too. That's part of the reason limb bolts are on a bow. They aren't there for decoration. Try about 60# and see what they fly like.

I didn't really shoot them long enough to get good feel for "how" they are shooting. They were low and left of where my 350's hit.

I have my XT draw weight around 68lbs. I shoot an indoor 5 spot league during the winter/spring and will lower my draw weight about as far as I can.

I bought the 250's because they were lighter and hoped that they would be flatter than the 350's when my draw weight is down around 60lbs or so.
