Default Centershot issue with Trykon?

There was a post in the Vectrix thread about Trykons having centershot issues and how this has supposedlybeen addressed on the new Vectrix.

Can anyone enlighten me about the centershot issues the Trykons? What is it and how does it manifest itself? I struck out in the other thread when I asked.

For the record, I own a Trykon. It's tuned and shoots fine, so I'm left wondering what other owners have experienced.

Thanks...

I have a Trykon XL and had trouble with it had to set way left of center. I sent it back to Hoyt it came back Im still left of center a slight bit but its tuned finally. Hoyt would not say what was wrong but it shoots good now.

Jimi,

Supposedly center shot has been fixed. Unfortunately, only those who have shot the bow or set one up will be able to determine if center shot issues have been fixed with the Vectrix.

I know with the Trykon, in the 2006 Hoyt Owner's Manual, it says proper center shot should be set just left of the strings powerpath. So in all reality, here is where much of the controversy over center shot arises.

Many guys were seeing outrageous measurements when trying to get the bow into tune. The rest would have to be set way beyond thecenter or left edge of the strings powerpath. Therefore, making tuning even more difficult.

When I set up my Rip Cord rest, I am a bit outside (left of)the stringsand have seen pretty good paper tune results and broadhead flight.

Hopefully we will see some improvements in center shot with the Vectrix lineup.

Sorry this didn't get answered earlier.

is this something that having a static yoke instead of a floating yoke will fix? on the xl i picked up, the string doesn't come off the bow anywhere near straight at full draw w/ a floating yoke - and because its a floating yoke there isn't anything you can do with it (well except trade it for a static one)

Thanks for the info guys.

My rest is about a 1/16" to the left of center, so I suppose this could be called a centershot issue, but to me that distance isno big deal. I listened to what the paper told me when tuning and that's how it ended up. Paper tuning my rig with the arrows I chose was pretty simple. With the dropaway rest and a good helical on my fletching the shot to shot accuracy is quite good. It seems others have had more problems, but based upon my own experience, I wonder how big of an issue this really is.

Thanks again for the info.
