string question

My bow is three months old. I've got maybe 200 shots through it. I noticed just below my serving that I have what looks to be 2 or 3 strands broken. I just cut the ends off and waxed it. Will this be ok, I don't want to have to change things being I'm heading back to Iowa in two days, and the bow is shooting fantastic. I have no idea how these strands broke. What do you guys think.

If the strands are indeed broken then I would suggest you dont shoot the bow untill you get a new string on it.

If the string lets go at full draw things are gonna get ugly in a big hurry.

I'd change it, but there's no reason you can't wait for those two days till you get back to Iowa. Depending on the bow weight there probably isn't a whole lot of danger of the string just snapping, but I wouldn't shoot it anyway. There's no purpose in blowing the bow apart for no reason.

With two strands broken I'd say that eventually the string is going to creep. The draw length will get longer,. The weight will go up. The nocking point will move and the bow will jsut plain go out of tune. That's a best case scenerio.

OMO if you are shooting a draw weight greater than 60 pounds better safe than sorry I would definately change the string.
if you know the bowis tuned do not shoot the bow unless you have a shot at a critter.
