Default TigerTuff drop away rest

i have a tiger tuff drop away rest. well its actually the regular rest but was made into a drop away by my pro shop. anyway i shoot it with the cock feather up and i'm getting contact with my rest and my vanes. now shouldn't the rest be away from the arrow, hence the drop away part of it. why am i hitting???

sounds like timings off
check to see if arrow comes up at the last 6"s[about] of arrow travel [right]have someone watch from the side for you
or does it come up in middle of arrow travel [wrong]
hope this helps

the rest is at rest on shelf of bow , when you draw the bow the rest should come up near the end of draw, about the last 6" of arrow allowing maximum time for rest to dropaway when released. that timing is controlled by the length of string between rest & cable where connected.
if rest is coming up in the middle of arrow when drawing back, the string would be to short or not enough slack between rest & cable where connected
one more thing to check , nock arrow & push up on rest,as if you where at full draw, arrow should be level or 90% angle to string
it is hard to explain, if you are still having contact go back to where you had it set up & have them check it for you .

thanks for your help. i'm going to try and fix it by giving it more slack in the string a little later. i really appreciate it.

when at rest, is the rest lying on the shelf of the bow ? & does it have spring tension? the rest should have spring tension pulling it down to the shelf of the bow
if so try shooting cock feather down. put power on rest to find out what & where contact is acurring
we find out what is wrong, it just may take some time thou
