Default Browning Rage One

I'm looking to go with the times. I've shot old compounds instictivley for years. I then bought a recurve this summer, i like the recurve, but the accuracy is hit and miss. Targets i'm dead on, animals not so much. I'm looking at a Browning Rage One. Carbon arrows, sights, string loop, release, and a peep sight. Has anyone shot this bow. I mainly hunt deer on the ground, and sometimes out of a tree. I'm looking for a decent fast bow, very forgiving and fun to shoot. The main thing i want is accuracy. I like what i hear about the rage slip cam head. I draw 29 inches and will pull 60 pounds and want to shoot the rage head. What should my minimun arrow weight be. I'm used to the old 10-12 per pound of draw. Can anyone give me a good basic set up for this bow. I want a good bow, and don't want to spend huge sums of money.

I have a Rage One, it's my hunting bow and it works just fine. I have been shooting and hunting with Brownings for 20 years. I also own amore expensive Browning Oasis with the hybrid cam system. I like the Oasis and might bring it out hunting but for now the Rage One is my hunting bow.

The Rage One is a basic single cam system that (as you know) you can adjust the draw length in 1/2in increments from 26in to 31in without a bow press. All you do is remove one set screw and one adjustment screw and set it to your draw length. I have mine set at 31in but it actually draws to 313/4 (so does the Oasis set at31 as well) so make sure you set it to how it feels because Brownings tend to draw a little longer than advertised.

It's quiet, accurate and very reliable. With an 8 1/2 brace height it isa joy to shoot with bulky clothes on. It's not a fast bow by todays standards (298 IBO) butI get 266fpsshootingfull length Beman ISC340 Camo hunters that weight in at 476grains. I killed 5 deer last year with it and all were pass throughs no problem.

If you are looking for a solid reliable hunting bow, you can't go wrong with thatset up.It also fits right in your price range.

It's an awesome bow!! I shoot it and highly recommend it. I got mine for 150 dollars on a sale at Cabela's and put all the good accessories on it for around another 60-70 dollars plus release and arrows.
