The reason for the wide variance of IBO speed is because Diamond advertised 310-318, shooting a 350-grain arrow using a 70# bow with a 29” draw. I duplicated their efforts and the best I averaged from 12 shots was 290. I used 2 different types of chronos producing the same results on all shots. The Black Ice I reviewed had the timberline package which include a couple of accessories which might have effected the IBO Speed.

Ah, I made the mental assumption that the review was quoting Diamond literature and not necessarily an individual test done by an independent individual.
Thank you.
Thank you.

It was a compilation of the 2. I measured everything to verify Diamond's numbers and tested the IBO speed. I have to assume they were able to get 318 that is why I left it as the max.

I believe that 310-318 is with nothing but a nock on the string. If you had a peep, and a WB then you definately would lose a lot of fps. My Birth Cert on my Tribute said 312 and I have run it through two different chronos. The firstone it was 308, 309, 311 and the second one it was 318, 319, and 322. I am sure the first one is much more accurate, but who knows. And actually who cares that much. I am sure the deer doesn't even notice the few fps loss or gain here or there.

Yes corerct. Forgot about the hush kit. Which is nice that bowtech does that. Because with other bows you lose fps off of manufacturer IBO when you add string leeches, or whiskers. So it makes it kind of nice that you only really lose speed for a peep and rest. I use a rip cord dropaway and there is a 8-10 fps difference than when I had my WB. I also use a Metapeep and I believe it is only a 2-4 fps loss.

I finally got to shoot my Black Ice yesterday but with no stabilizer on and to be honest I dont think I will be putting one on it, the bow does not really need one.
But for the time being all I can say about the bow and the way it shoots is.
SSSSSSSSSSSWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTT.
Hoping to crono it over the weekend with my hunting arra's
