Default new to bow hunting

Hi guys/gals

I have been given a bow and a few arrows and would like everyones opinion. I have never hunted with a bow but want to give it a try (whitetails). I have some experience shooting a bow (not this one)
Browning - Timberwolf
it has 2 different lenght arrows (can't remember the lenghts) what does longer arrows do that shorter ones can't
There are 2 mechanical broadheads on the 2 longer arrows..don't know brand but they have 2 heads that come out. I have been looking around and it seems most now have 3 or 4 that fold out. What is a good reliable broadhead that gets the job done?
I know it isn't the top of the line but will it do the job. It is set at 60lb draw.
It draw length needs to be adjusted a bit for me as the previous owner must have had a bit shorter set of arms.
I plan on practicing with this over the next few months....taking my archery course that is required in the province where i live in the spring. Shooting the bow a much next summer and giving the deer a try by next season.

So any though or input would be great. I know this is a long post (sorry) I am a nebbie to bow hunting and can't wait to get started.

thanks

Default RE: new to bow hunting

I would spend a little money on a dozen of good arrows and field points and use9 for practice and set 3 aside for hunting arrows

you will want to check your states Regs concerning what types of broadheads are legal and make your selections around those peramiters

lots of things to consider when it comes to arrow and broadhead selection, I recomend you read some of the posts here concerning the subject and get out side and practice,
the more you practice the more you will learn about the equipment you are using, the more you learn about it the easier it will be to master it.
