Default release location on string

i have noticed some shooters put the release above the arrow on the string while others place it below the arrow nock. any certain reason why?

I personally have never seen anyone put it above the nock. That seems very odd?

I once saw a picture of a 'bowhunter' about to draw a bow in a magazine and he was holding the bow upside down!Might as well have been wearing a sign: "I'm a professional model being paid to get my picture taken with a bow in my hand. Don't know what the heck this bow thingie does and I don't care, as long as Iget a paycheck today."

by nocking above the arrow you can get more distance. your sight pin dont have to be as low. this works well if your sight is down close to the arrow for the longer shots
