I have the 50-60 limbs. I was shooting right at 60 lbs before I had my new rest put on. I had the tiller re-set to even and never measured my poundage after. I am shooting 29.25 CX Extreme 300's with 100 grain target tips and a lumenock. I put the nock on for fun in the yard. My draw is 30. Stock leaches on the bow 1 broken and a Muzzy Zero Effect rest. My string is still the same as when I bought the bow but it looks new. I use a loop and brass nock.
My chrono measured 270.
Respectable speed or should I be getting a bit more out of it?

Well that was my question. My IBO is 325-333 so without having asked the question directly should I expect more from this bow? Or should I consider a change of string being that it is a bit older than normal?
My speed is my speed and 270 is more than ok, but my question was directed to those who may have an opinion on this models speed. So I guess I should be more specific when asking a question, should I expect numbers around 290-300 with my current set up? Should I consider a string change or if my speed is below accepted norms for my setup is there another issue I should look at?
The bow shoots better than ever and I love it. However, if more speed is available I paid for it when I bought the bow so I would like to get the best performance I can out of it. I don't mind 270 but I was really expecting 280-290 out of it.

What all do you have on your string? How much does your arrow weigh? And what speed was listed on your bow's "Birth Cirtificate"? You're at IBO draw length, but you're 10# under and your arrow is probably over 350 grains. Factor in the weight you added to your string(peep, loop, leeches?), and 270 sounds just about right.

I just chrono'd my Extreme VFT this past weekend. I have a relatively short draw length, 26.5 -27", not sure exactly. I'm shooting 27" GT 5575XTs with 100 grain tips, wraps, and blazers, have cat whiskers on the string, 2 eliminator buttons (one spare), peepand a brass nock. I have 1 year old winners choice strings without speed nocks. I'm getting 250 fps. The bow is maxed at 62 pounds. As long as I hit where I aim, I'm happy.
Ok my rough estimate puts me at 385 grains. With 100 grain tips + insert (15grains) + fletching (19grains) + nock (15 Grains) on a CX 300 (236.9grains). I had the shop cut these when I bought my new rest so I never checked the spine charts to see if they were on for my adjusted arrow length.
CX says I should be shooting a CX 200 shaft. That would give me a fully loaded 362 grain arrow assuming my assumptions are close on fletch/insert/nock weights. The above also doesn't take into account I was shooting a lumenock thru the chrono so I guess my earlier arrow would weigh over 385 due to the lumenock.
I dunno if dropping to a 362 arrow would up my speed any. It would put me at the correct spine for my bow though. I still need to measure my draw weight. My limbs look backed out a bit from before but I don't have a bow scale on hand to make sure. I wish I still had my bows birth certificate to compare. I seem to remember it being over 300 though, which is why my 270 speed seemed a bit low. I also had my vibralocks at the top of the limb. I have seen other bows lower them down to the limb pocket. I am gonna test my draw weight tomorrow at the shop then fire a few with the vibralocks slid down a few notches and see what affect it has.
The bow shoots better than ever and I am hitting everything in sight. However, since I got this chrono I intend to get into a pissing match with my buddy over his bow speed so I wanna make sure mine is at max speed when we go head to head......

Take that brass nock off, and then see what the speed is, I would bet you'll be surprised at how much its slowing you down, since you dont even need it if you have a loop anyways.
Well for comparison, I'm shooting a Bowtech Patriot 70#, 30" with leches, G5 META peep and string loop. My arrows are CE Maxima 350s with Blazers, 100 grain points and a Lumenok. Total arrow weight is 400 grains on the nose and I'm getting 303 fps with it.
The speed rating you're refering to is for a 70 pound bow at 30 inch draw length. Being you're at 60 pounds and without doing all the math it sounds like your FPS is respectable.
