Default Paper Tuning

I was planning on maing a paper tuning rack this weekend since I can't get my broadheads worked out.

I was wondering if i could use printer paper or if hats too small maybe news paper. I looked in eastons tuning guide on paper tuning so I believe I know how to do it correctly.

I hope this helps me with my broadheads. My confidence in my equipment has hit the crapper.

I use freezer wrap paper that you can buy at any grocery store. It's cheap and shows the tears really well. I built a paper tuning rack out of pvc pipe years ago and it works great. It doesn't take long to build and will last you a lifetime. Good luck.

I have made one before using a big box (bananna box) and cut a square in it and taped some computer paper on it. Make sure its tight though. You will find that it becomes frustrating replacing the paper every few shots.

We have one at the range I shoot which you can just roll the paper up when you need more. Those kind wouldn't be too hard to make.

Good luck Spike.

For my home proshop I was going to build a paper tuner then I discovered the laser/level tuning devices, can't argue with them. Pefect broadhead flight with Muzzy's, field points, RM Snypers and Sonics. I'm anxious to shoot a couple more fixed blade heads out of my bow just to see.

Ya, if you had a spare one I'd buy it off of you. Easy Eye is out of production on them and they won't have anything coming in from their casting company until 2007.

Kodiak, what about Cabela's and Bass Pro... surely they've still got some in their inventory?

I'd like to clearify something as well. Matt/PA brought it to my attention via PM, I'm not discounting paper tuning. Paper can and will show you problems that laser/level tuning won't such as torque, timing, limb twist, cam lean etc..etc...Paper tuning is still a good idea, just not necessary if your laser/level tuning provides you with perfect flight arrows and broadhead flight/groups.

If you have a garage or basement, (...or living room with an understanding wife...which I don't have so it's the garage for me), a couple lengths of nylon cord about 2 ft. and two old arrows, and some old newspaper or any paper for that matter andyou're in business.

Tack up each cord to the ceiling. Tie a loop in the bottom end of each cord. Slide one shaft through the loops. Tape one end of the newspaper to that shaft. Tape the other end of the newspaper to the other shaft. You'll have plenty of weight from the bottom shaft hanging to hold the paper in place. Put your target behind the paper about 2 ft. Elevate your target on a garbage can (so you don't shoot your wall) and you're good to go.

Been doing this for 20 years.

If you don't want to use newspaper just put a roll of any paper, butcher/freezer/christmas wrapping paper, you name it. It works

I had a rest come apart on me on the practice range before a 3-d shoot once. I rolled both back windows of my truck down, stuck a bag target in one window and taped newspaper to the other. I got some strange looks in the parking lot for shooting through my truck but it worked; I ended up winning enough money to pay for my gas!
