RE: Mathews limbs cracking thread
I did this once before on my press and am too much of a novice to say that it was easy. I premeasured everything on my bow. Brace height, upper and lower tiller, nock set, peep location..the whole works. Then let off the limb bolts about 5 turns each (from bottomed out). Then I Put it in the press, took off the string and cables and removed it from the press. I took off both limbs and lined the limb pockets with a layer of rubber innertube.
Then the fun part came. I stood there with a Uh-Oh look on my face trying to figure out which way the string went around the cam, or was that where the cable fed through.
I finaly got it all back together and felt a sigh of relief when I pulled it back and everything rolled smoothly. If your gonna do it make sure you take it apart and put it back together on the same day.
I know some of the pros will read my post and laugh, I'm just trying to warn you that it can be fun doing it for the first time.
Now that I think about it, I heard some crunchy sounds the last time I made sure one of my bows limbs were buttoned down....By George I think it was my Mathews!! Guess I need to check mine out also.
More free limbs from mathews????
Oh wait I think the other thread said the new split limbs on mathews were no problem-lol!!
