Default well, bye bye switchback......

selling the sb. nothing wrong with the bow, i like it. a buddy brought over his trykon xl - which had been shot about 50 times - and which he waited on new cams for, for a long time. in the meantime he got a con 3 to hunt with and no longer needed the trykon xl. $300 is all he asked for it. now let me say that tom is the yoda of back tension and bow tuning - and the bow is pristine. the folks around here don't have much money, and this was just another opportunity to funnel a good bow in here for a great price. so i'm selling my brand new (1 month old) switchback to a neighbor boy for $300 and i'm going to hunt with the xl. it fits me better anyway. being 6'2" withrelatively long arms, a 36" ata bowfits me much better than a 33". i can actually get the string on my nose w/out careening myneck.

Doesn't surprise me, they are a great bow too and I imagine it would be a good thing for you to have some hands on time with the trykons because I am sure you make strings for them quite a bit. I really really hope that Mathews offers something in the 36-37" hunting bow categorylike this next year because I also feel that my XT is a bit short ATA for my long draw length as well.

that's exactly how i felt about it rickjames - hands on time w/ a hoyt. plus, its a hunting bow. you put any bow in my hands that's anywhere close to fitting me, and i can hunt with it just fine. me being up in this holler, just to brag on archery a little, has had a real positive impact on the holler. i've got a dad and son that were at eachother all the time, shooting in the evenings together over here, going to 3d's together, and really finding some great common ground. now, funneling the sb in here, it'll be replacing a 15 yr old hoyt bow for a boy - and he wouldn't havea way to replace it w/ a real fine bow otherwise. i'm really tickled. heck, his old hoyt is already outfitted w/ all great accessories i've traded him for cutting the grass or weed-eating, stuff i've just replaced - not because its bad, but because i'm addicted to trying stuff.

Sounds like good reasoning to me. I'veheard of people preferring the XL over the regular Trykon for one reason or another. Probably both great though.

I've pulled a couple of Gibblets here lately. I let 2 of my bows go for cheap, all set up & tuned. One went w/ everything needed to hunt- arrows releases, broadheads, case, quiverthe hole nine yards.
My wife said, "gosh you gave that away [8D]."
Now I'm down to the 2 I like the best.
I got tired of seeing 2 bows not get used. At least now they will taste some blood this year instead of needing dusted.

BTW, Gibblet I lied when I said I would never sell my Z-light- she's gone.
By the way the new owner was acting you would have thought it was the best bow out[&:].
He'll kill a big one w/ it this year I'm certain-(he's got access to good land) To see the ole Z-light in a laying down pic with a bruiser will make the whole deal worth it.

Congrats on the new bow, John. Pretty close to opening day. Too close for me, but really like to get things set ahead of time. I'm sure you will have that thing tuned and shooting great in no time though.

Gibblet!

You know it's really cool that you give all bow manufacturers good honest look without being brand loyal. Giving an honest review on each and every bow that you shoot whether good or bad .The other good thing is that you really seem to like to promote this great sport of our's, even though you live in the holler . I'm sure this young lad is probably the happiest kid in the holler and it's all because of you .

Way to go buddy and congrat's on the new bow.

I am glad to see others adding to the wonderful world of archery. I picked up a closeout of 7 bows last year along with 18doz arrows and GAVE every one of them away. I just gave away a complete setup this week to a guy that moved here from up north. Said he never took a deer in his life....saw two up there in Deleware once. I gave him bow, sight, rest, silencers, quiver, arrows, Broadheads, Release and shooting lessons. He is a natural!!! He was shooting groups he could pull with one hand (6arrows) in no time at all. He is Pumped....and So Am I!

I gave one dad and 2 sons setups for christmas. Santa left them on the porch Christmas morning. They went out for a late season hunt and are now shooting nightly, scouting and basically badly bitten by the bug!!!
I LOVE IT~!

Archery is a love best shared.......but not my honey holes!!! Well....I do take kids to my best spots, but adults are on their own!

If your looking for a 32" draw length bow I would wait for their 07 models (from what I hear ) and see if they come with something a little longer ATA. At my 30" draw the XT seems to be very short. The LD will go to 32" though........
