Default Newbie needs help with Fletching tool

Hello,

I'm new to all of this and I need somehelp with buying a fletching tool. I am using a TM Hunter rest and would like to know ifI can use helical fletching or not. Will the vanes clear the rest when they pass through? Or isit best to gowithstraight?

Also, which fletchingtool will do the job best? I am looking at theArizona ez.

Thanks for the help.

I recomend the bitzenburger TM it comes with the nock reciever so your odd vane is always down and the straight clamp which you need for max clearence

I use a Bodoodle rest which is the same idea as a TM hunter, the arrow sits on two prongs. I have a Bitzenberger fletching tool with a right helical fletch. I haven't had any problems shooting Aluminum or carbon arrows. The only arrows I had trouble with were the old stlye carbon arrows that were super small diameter. I even got those to work using a smaller vane. If you plan to hunt I would recommend the helical fletching for better broadhead flight. If your going to shoot mechanical heads you could probablyget away withwith a straight fletching. The Bitzenberger tool is all metal so it will last forever and if you do decide to switch from helical to straight you can always buy another clamp. They are a little pricey but you will never need to buy another one.

i have usedthe EZ fletchsince the 80's. i have all 3 configurations(left, right, straight). works great and stores easily. you can take it any where. i shoot a TM hunter and fletch 4 inch feathers. just rotate your nock to get the feathers lined up for clearance.

Thanks for all the help. Now if I could just get my new bow to stop making this annoying little popping noise when I draw I'll be set.
