Default stabilizer?

i've heard a lot of different opinions on whether or not to use a stabilizer, and none of the folks i talk to can point our exactly why they use one.

thoughts? i'm shooting a diamond justice, whisker biscuit, carbonsand use a mechanical release.

Default RE: stabilizer?

sometimes it will help balance the bow. mine is a NAP shock blocker 500 and is only 5 inches long. its got a litttttle weight, but mainly is there to stop shock and vvibration. it has rubber on it, and is filled with some type of powder. i havent gotten around to taking it off and seeing the bows performance with out it though.

i hear for the money the Sims S Coil is supposed to be a good one...

Default RE: stabilizer?

I hunt with a Sims S-Coil Stabilizer and I won't shoot without it.

I like the stabilizer because it gives my bow more forward weight. This translates into better balance and a less shakey hold.

My recommendation is to purchase a cheap one, shoot a couple of dozen arrows at the range with it on and then with it off. See what ya think.

FYI: Nobody can tell you that you need a stabilizer or not. It is all how your bow feels with the equipment you have on it.

Default RE: stabilizer?

i think it deadens some shock and vibration but it mainly boils down to personal preference. SHoot with one and without and use watever you feel better with. Im not sure that its effects elp that much, but for me it adds confidence for some weird reason. When my old stabilizer broke, i kept on shooting mybow, but was terrible. as soon as i installed a new one i was dead on again. idk wh, i guess it was just in my head, but i use one.
